Member Spotlight: Alliance Jiu Jitsu
Vinicius Lino Wong is the owner and head instructor at Alliance Jiu Jitsu in San Marcos. Him and his staff teach kids and adults how to defend themselves, by utilizing the principles of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Students who train at Alliance will learn the essentials of self defense, as well as becoming more confident, disciplined and controlled.
How long have you been in business at your current location?
Alliance is a Global Jiu Jitsu team, and has been around for 30 Years! Alliance San Marcos will be open for nearly one year.
What sets you apart from others in your industry?
We are a Professional Jiu Jitsu academy, focused on families, community and self-development. We provide an unparalleled experience for both the student and parents, which one can only feel by visiting the academy first hand.
What is your favorite business success story?
A local San Marcos story that is - we are well aware of the vast amount of success that Michael (the owner of Mama Kat’s in San Marcos) has experienced thus far. It is my understanding he began working at the establishment, or frequented there, and ended up seeing the value in a family-owned and operated business, which provides an experience and delicious food to the local community. Now, he is the owner and this establishment is unbelievably successful, and is always full of patrons serving families all over San Marcos. Not only that, they provide great service and even better food! We are happy to see such an amazing person grow a community staple, which is what we strive to become.
What motivated you to join The San Marcos Chamber?
At our academy, we have the unique opportunity to train anybody and everybody from every walk of life. This is inclusive of our local Police and Fire Departments, as well several local business owners. We are a member of the Chamber, because we have the opportunity to give back to our kids and families of our community - by teaching kids how to become more confident in self-defense situations and in the classroom, or at home. We have the unique opportunity everyday to create a change in just one person's life, and this creates a strong effect in the community after time.
In San Marcos, what are you looking forward to accomplishing with the Chamber?
Our Team would like to create strong partnerships with our community to provide opportunities to learn the sport, and give back - we recently conducted an Anti-bullying seminar and Women’s self defense event! Alliance San Marcos is the Gold Standard when it comes to a Jiu Jitsu academy. We provide an unparalleled experience to everyday families, and top-notch training to our police and law enforcement agents who train with us.
